Good morning everybody! I just rolled out of bed and here we are, packing for a camping trip. Yesterday I had no motivation to do my hair but it NEEDED to be washed. So blocking out whatever my brain was telling me, I jumped in the shower. Let me tell ya, I am thanking myself for doing it yesterday. Because today, I just had to take my sleeping cap off, shake out my hair and I am ready to head up into the mountains! Can you do this with your curls?
If you haven't already...
If you don't already know how to wash, style, apply the product and protect your hair overnight, go check out the rest of my blogs for some tips. In this blog, we will be talking about planning for away trips with your curls.
What should we pack?
Getting ready for an away trip always stresses me out. Am I going to have to wash my hair? What products will I need? How can I style my hair differently every day for multiple different days? Will my husband's family make fun of me for wearing a sleeping cap? Yes, I am 21 and still cautious about what others think... Have you asked or worried about these things too? Let's work it out together!
Mental Relief
The best thing I know always works is to just go with the flow. Wash your hair on wash day. if you don't have room for every curl product you own, don't take it all. Maybe your hair will surprise you with how well it's grown since you started this curly journey.
Must-haves

In my hair bag, we have, a leave-in conditioner, this one has a UV Ray protectant which is a must when in the sun, A knot detangler, shampoo, mousse, curl cream for my husband, oil, clips, a Denman brush, scrunches, my sleeping cap, and a silk pillowcase. TBH I probably overpacked for this camping trip but you just never know. What are your must-haves when packing for a trip?
Styling
For styling your hair while being active or just having fun in the outdoors, a loose bun is always a good option. Wearing a hat to protect your hair from the sun is also a good styling idea. Things like heat, chlorine, salt water, The Sun, brushing, and styling your hair can cause damage. This doesn't mean you can't go swimming anymore it just means we need to be aware of what we are doing with our curls. This way we can know how to repair it.
It is important to take care of your curls, however, it is also important to have fun. Oh and don't forget the bug spray🪲
